Also known as, Monkey.  Our Princess is the middle child, and the only girl.  At 3 years old she enjoys anything Brother is doing including: Legos, the Internet, playing superheroes, etc.  Monkey is quite the little ball of fire, and frankly, that scares me.  She is just as fearless as her brother, and quite physically punishing…Trust me!  As much as she likes boy stuff, she likes girl stuff even more.  She LOVES pink and purple anything.  She is demanding as to what she will and won’t wear, and usually tries to dictate what outfit she will wear.

Monkey loves the Internet; she can even con my wife into some time on her laptop.  She loves to browse Nick Jr., My Little Pony, Playhouse Disney, and almost any website her brother goes to.  It was shocking to me the first time I saw my, then, 2 year old navigating Playhouse Disney online.  Surely this can’t be normal I thought, but then realized that times are different than when I was a kid.  Computers (multiple) in our house means she is going to learn them so she isn’t left out in the dark.  Sadly, she now knows how to put a movie into their desktop…gotta fix that auto-play…

She is a tomboy.  She loves to rough house, play in the dirt, and anything else brother does she can do (in her mind).   Lately they’ve had great fun playing superheroes.  For the record, it isn’t “Monkey” it’s “Ponygirl”…don’t try to correct her.  There are times just before bed when it is Daddy’s turn to read bedtime stories that we will wrestle a little bit.  Usually I pin down Nutty and he yells for his sister’s help (either her name or Ponygirl) and she will come and basically belly flop on me.  She has no problem doing an elbow drop on Daddy’s head.  Yes, at 3 years old, she is efficient in hand to hand combat.

Don’t get me wrong, deep down she is ALL little girl.  She loves dresses, and even better if it is a pink and purple dress with ponies on it.  Not just any pony…it has to be My Little Pony.  She loves to pick everything she wears down to which socks she prefers.

She isn’t really a Daddy’s Girl at this point; she still runs to Mama first if she gets hurt, but there is always time.  The thing I worry about most is her love of clothes (thanks Mama) and pickiness with shoes (that might be my fault) and the fact I can’t seem to tell he no when we are at a clothes store. I can see this getting expensive in the future….really expensive.
