I’m not liking this. Granted it sucks enough that I am growing up, but I have to watch my kids grow up as well. Monkey is 20 months old and VERY independent and demanding. She is also climbing anything and everything she can. Nutty is 4 years old and I am less than thrilled that he is growing up so fast.
Nutty is growing up…proof??? Nutty is starting preschool tomorrow…yes tomorrow. He is going on Tuesday and Thursday from 11:30 to 2:30. We are all excited about him starting preschool, but Mom and Dad are a bit sad. This isn’t a regular preschool; it is at the Nampa Rec Center and will include regular things like: learning letters, numbers, colors and shapes. He will also be learning things like emotions (apparently schools want kids to know those these days).
The part that really sets this preschool apart is what they do on “special” days. On special days Nutty will get to take part in rock climbing, gymnastics (which he has been doing for months anyway), swimming and computer learning. He is already getting computer time at home on websites like Playhouse Disney, Thomas and Friends (and other H.I.T. sites), and more recently Planet Heroes and Hot Wheels.
Nutty really needs to learn to mind and talk quietly inside. He already knows numbers, colors, shapes and the alphabet…though not sure how many letters he can recognize because I really think he plays dumb sometimes because he doesn’t want to think. That is something I want to make sure doesn’t continue because, yes I know kids are mean and pick on smart kids but it is the smart kids that end up running the world (political figures excluded).
