Fall Semester starts today. Only one of the three classes I am enrolled in is a real class. Photoshop only lasts until the first week of October, GenBus 450 is an online class, and MKTG 315 meets for an hour a day MWF.
Photoshop is my fun/filler credit. I was coming up 2 credits short as of the end of Spring Semester thanks to BSU’s transfer system. I got credits for classes I took in Portland, but they came through as 2 credit hours instead of the 3 credit hours that BSU gives them. The other filler credit was an intro to web design class I took this past Summer Semester. It was only 4 days for 4 hours a day.
GenBus 450 (short for General Business) is the big required class for my degree. It has 5 or 6 pre-requisites and you have to be a Senior to enroll. The traditional version (the in-class version) usually requires a couple of presentations…at least that is what I was told. I despise presenting. I usually get stuck in a group with people that don’t pull their own weight in the reports. I took two classes this summer that had groups. I carried the groups in both cases…including literally doing everything for my Internet Marketing Strategy class presentation. I take that back, one of the group members came up with an idea for a “hook”….he brought in a guitar and amp which he set up while I setup our powerpoint. He played a few riffs prior to us starting. Once we started we didn’t touch the guitar. The point was to get people’s attention and keep them waiting for what the guitar was for….there was no point other than to make them wonder when it would come into play. So he did do that part, I did the rest. Oh, did I mention we got marked down because the guitar had NOTHING TO DO WITH OUR PROJECT!!!!!!!!!!! I got a B on the presentation by a couple points because of that dumb fuck!
MKTG 315…Marketing Research. This is the other required class I am taking. For the past 6 years it has been taught by Jason…my Internet Marketing Strategy teacher. He was a tall Canadian who is obsessed with fast food (they eat it on average of once a day in his house) and internet porn. The guy knows more porn sites than me and all my perverted friends combined. Oh, about the fast food…he is about 6′3″ and maybe 150 lbs. His wife (had her for Business Communication) is about 5′4″ and maybe 100 lbs (in 6 layers soaking wet). They were both blessed with the metabolism of a 4 year old…using my 4 year old son that wears size 18 month shorts because he is too skinny to keep the larger sized shorts up without a belt of some kind as a reference.
Anyway, MKTG 315 is now taught by a teacher known to be a bitch. I was very nervous about the class until I downloaded and read the syllabus last night. We’ll see how it goes.
Oh, and about the shoe whore post….those Filippino shoes are gone now. They were there for about a week and I never ordered them. I am very sad now.
Update 08-20-09: My teacher for MKTG 315 was nothing like what I had heard. Not only did I do well in that class, but I found a love for Marketing Research. I’ve been trying to get a job in that field ever since.
